Why Choose Self-Leveling Polished Concrete?
- • Ease of Application: Its self-leveling formula spreads evenly without manual smoothing, saving time and effort.
- • Elegant Finish: The smooth texture provides a modern aesthetic for spaces like living rooms, kitchens, or offices.
- • High Durability: Designed to withstand wear and impacts, ensuring long-lasting quality.
How to Use:
- Mix the powder with water using an electric mixer at 500 RPM, adding the powder gradually into the water until you achieve a homogeneous mixture.
- Let the mixture rest briefly to allow air bubbles to dissipate. For a smoother result, sift the mixture using a sieve while transferring it to another bucket.
- Apply a 4 mm layer using a leveling bar.
- Use a spiked roller and nail shoes to remove air bubbles, then smooth the surface with a Flemish trowel to erase marks and create uniformity. Let the trowel glide over the surface without scraping.
- For a seamless finish, pour subsequent batches quickly, slightly overlapping the previous layer to blend them together.
Protection:
- - For standard traffic: Use Premium Concrete Varnish.
- - For high-traffic areas or maximum protection: Opt for Optimum Concrete Varnish.
- - To protect the varnish from wear: Apply a Wax layer.
Tips:
- Work in cool conditions and avoid drafts during drying.
- Use the exact recommended water quantity, weighing it before each mix. Excess water can weaken the concrete.
- Respect existing expansion, contraction, and perimeter joints, especially on heated floors.
- Ensure compatibility with primers and the polished concrete.
- Round off sharp corners (e.g., pillars or right angles) to prevent cracks.
- Install trim at door thresholds to stop the pour cleanly.
- Use perimeter strips to separate walls from the floor and protect woodwork with tape.
